Voice Actors
Some say voice actors practice the purest form of acting. There are only words on a page, a microphone, and the actor. There is nothing visual the voice actor can do while portraying a character. It must all be done with the voice.
When a good actor steps up to the mic he or she brings more than just a voice. Voice actors make sure they’ve searched the script for the main message to be communicated. Certain words and phrases have been noted for special treatment. A real character has been created to make the message more interesting even if the task at hand is just inviting the caller to press nine for more menu options.

Bringing a boring piece of copy to life is what separates voice actors from announcers. It’s easier when you’re doing lines for a computer game or narrating a video on a beautiful mountain vacation resort. It’s not so easy when you're narrating a video on how to inspect a high mast pole used for lighting highway construction projects at night. I know. I’ve done both.
